Descendants 2 Books!

Hi lovelies! A little while ago the lovely people at Parragon books contacted me to ask if I'd like to receive one of their Descendants 2 book boxes to review and of course I jumped at the chance! I am a huge fan of Disney's Descendants - I honestly think it's one of the best Disney Channel Original Movies (*sings Evil Like Me forever*) - so I was eagerly waiting the release of the sequel, Descendants 2! I finally managed to catch up with the new film tonight and I fell in love all over again but with all these beautiful goodies from Parragon, the magic doesn't need to end yet!

For the release of the new film Parragon have published a lovely range of books which should cater to every type of Disney fan. In the book box I was sent (which was beautiful in it's own right!) I received the Book of the Film, an activity book, a happy tin, and most exciting of all - Rise of the Isle of the Lost by Melissa De La Cruz, which tells the story of Uma who is the new villain in Descendants 2!

Rise of the Isle of the Lost
I started reading this before I saw the film and although I haven't finished it yet I can already tell it's going to be one of my favourite Disney books. If you know anything about Descendants 2, you know that Uma is quite the scene-stealer so it's so interesting to find out a little more about her and how her pirate crew came to be! My only quibble is that the book seems to be written with a middle-grade audience in mind when I was hoping for it to be more young adult but it's a really enjoyable read and I'd definitely recommend it to every Descendants fan. It's basically like Descendants 1.5!

Book of the Film
Now that I've seen the second film I will definitely be reaching for this book to keep the magic from the film going! It features some beautiful colour photos in the middle of the book and each chapter starts with a little insight into Mal's thoughts which is a super cute touch! I can't wait to get to this after I've finished Rise of the Isle of the Lost.

Activity Book and Happy Tin
And finally these goodies are brilliant for getting your creative juices flowing! The activity book is filled with lots of activities from drawing your own magical spellbook cover to writing a page in Mal's diary which are all accompanied by lots of lovely photographs of all the characters. The beautiful happy tin also includes lots of bits to get creative with including over 50 stickers and personalisable pencil toppers! These would be the perfect Christmas gifts to keep any Descendants-loving kids quiet!

If you want to get your paws on any of these brilliant books yourselves, they're all available at WHSmiths and Amazon, and you can also find them through Parragon's Descendants 2 website!

Thanks so much again to Parragon for sending me these! Have you seen the new film yet? What did you think of it? I so hope a third film is in the works!

What I Got For My Birthday - 2017

Hi lovelies! It was my birthday last month (I turned 26, eeek!) and I had the loveliest, chilled-out day with my family which involved lots of pizza, cake and shopping! I also received some absolutely lovely gifts from my family and boyfriend (including that beautiful Tangled birthday badge!) so I thought I'd share a few things that I thought you guys might like to see!

First up is this dang amazing bag that my boyfriend bought me from Typo! I'm not really familiar with Typo but when I saw the lovely Jord and Sophie tweeting about this bag, I had to have it in my life! It's similar to the Longchamp Le Pilage bag so it's very roomy inside and I'm obsessed with the beautiful Mickey Mouse Club design on the front. I love that it's not too in-your-face-Disney as well!

I was also thoroughly spoiled with a lot of Disney goodies from Cath Kidston! As the Peter Pan x Cath Kidston collection came out a few days before my birthday, my mum kindly bought me a Cath Kidston voucher so I could go wild! From the new collection I chose the Midnight mug, the pink Tinker Bell notepad and the lunchbox which I will definitely be using for my lunch at work! Oh don't mind me, I'm just a 26 year old with a Tinker Bell lunch box...

With the leftover credit from the gift card I also got a pencil case from the previous 101 Dalmatians collection to help organise all the junk in my bag and this ridiculously cute mouse purse. I haven't figured out a use for him yet but obviously I couldn't leave that little face behind! My sister also came to my rescue with this lovely Dalmatian and roses purse. Unfortunately my old purse broke a few months ago so I was in dire need of a replacement and I can't think of a better one!

And finally I was also lucky enough to receive not one, but two advent calendars... The benefits of having a birthday that falls on the approach to Christmas! My mum treated me to a Yankee Candle one which I've never tried before but I love the idea of and my boyfriend bought me the Beauty and the Beast bath and body calendar from Superdrug! I can't wait until December rolls around so I can start using these!

Where To Get The Cutest Disney Planners From!

Hi lovelies! Asia always seems to make the cutest Disney merchandise (I will literally buy anything with Ufufys on...) but it was when I was in Hong Kong last year that I discovered Japanese Disney schedule books (planners/diaries) and I've been obsessed ever since.

Not only are they incredibly useful for keeping track of where you need to be (I use mine for keeping on top of my shifts at work and any other appointments and I honestly don't know how I coped without one now!) but their designs are ridiculously lovely. They have the most beautiful Disney art both on the cover and throughout the inside and I think you'd be hard pressed to find a Disney planner in the UK that comes close to how pretty they are. The detailing is next level! Just look how cute the Alice in Wonderland one that I picked up from Hong Kong is:

Ever since I've been determined to track down a new one for 2018 but I hadn't had any luck until recently when they started to appear online - I think they must be released in the summer months! I bought this beautiful Tangled/Disney heroines one from Etsy but they're also available on eBay too at the moment. If you type in "Disney schedule" to either site you should be able to find them. Unfortunately I can't recommend the seller I bought mine from as they mysteriously shut up shop after shipping out their orders but "acuteshop" on Etsy has lots of really cute ones in stock at the moment!

The only downside to these is that they usually work out at about £20 to £30 each which is definitely quite pricey (especially as you might end up being hit with customs charges on top of this...) but I honestly think these are worth every penny! One advantage is that these usually run for over a year so at least you'll definitely get a lot of use out of it!

If you are interested in getting your paws on one of these yourself then it would probably be best to buy one soon as I have feeling they'll sell out before long - hence why I couldn't find these for months at a time! I hope this helps anyone who is interested in these beautiful planners!

Disney Nail Art Collab - Snow White

Hi lovelies! For September's Disney nail art collaboration with Sam from The Belle Jar the theme was Disney's original Princess, Snow White! I have to admit that while I haven't seen Snow White in a while, it was always one of my favourite Disney films as a child and even now it's still one of my most-loved Disney classics. It's even more magical when you consider how ground breaking it was at the time... I only recently found out that it was the first *ever* feature-length animated film (I am a bad, bad Disney fan)!

As it was my turn to do the Princess this month, my look is based around Snow White herself and I used elements from her costume to create this design. For the centre finger I did a cute lil' bow like the one she wears in her hair, for the nails next to it I tried to re-create the design of her sleeves and for the outer nails I thought I'd do some little polka dots. Simple, but hopefully it reminds you of Snow!

Remember to check out Sam's take on the film over on her blog and stay tuned for more Disney nail art designs coming soon!

"Remember, you're the one who can fill the world with sunshine."
