20 Facts About My Disney Life

The gorgeous Fern from Flowers In My Hand tagged me to do this post and I was so excited to be tagged! I've been clicking on every post I've seen on this tag appearing on my newsfeed as I've been loving finding out about other people's "Disney lives" so I hope you enjoy my attempt! You can see Fern's post on the tag here.

1. I collect five different types of Disney merchandise: Tsum Tsums, the Classic DVDs with slipcovers, pins, mugs and Funko Pops.

2. At the time of writing this I have over 160 Tsum Tsums...!

3. I love both Star Wars & Marvel and I'm so glad that they're part of the Disney world now.

4. I've never been to any of the Disney parks except for Disneyland Paris which I went to once when I was little. I can barely remember anything about it though unfortunately!

5. I'm rectifying this however with a visit to Hong Kong Disneyland in September!
6.  I went to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens four times in the cinema! Plus I may have already booked tickets to see it again this summer at an open air cinema...

7. Ever since I was little I've had the BIGGEST crush on Shang from Mulan. Dat man bun though.

8. Minnie is definitely my favourite character from the Mickey and Friends cast because of her fashion sense - I love polka dots and bows! I'd really like to do some Minnie-inspired outfits on here soon.

9. I'm on the committee for my university's Disney Society!

10. I discovered Disney blogging through the Tsum Tsum community on Instagram.
11. My favourite Avenger is definitely Captain America *heart eyes*

12. I've still not seen a lot of very popular Disney/Pixar films including WALL-E, The Emperor's New Groove and Up...

13. I currently have three pairs of Mouse Ears (fluffy Minnie ones, sequin Minnie ones & a live action Cinderella-inspired set from Queen Ursula UK) but I have so many on my wishlist! Next will definitely be a rose gold pair and Kylo Ren-inspired ones.

14. The nearest Disney Store to where I live is over a two and a half hour drive away (one way!) but that's probably a blessing in disguise as the last time I was in a Disney Store I spent over £100...

15. I don't think I'll ever get sick of watching Tangled. The lantern scene is one of my all-time favourite film scenes *swoons*
16. As you may have guessed from my blog title, the live action Cinderella is one of my favourite Disney films. Ella's unwavering kindness inspires me so much. My next tattoo is going to be the quote from the film "have courage and be kind" on my ribs.

17. Apart from Cinderella, Judy Hopps is another huge role model for me!

18. I'm so grateful to have found the Twitter Disney community! Everyone is so bloody lovely and I'm excited to be finally meeting some people at the London meet up this weekend!

19. I was obsessed with the 1951 Alice In Wonderland film when I was younger and would watch it constantly, much to my Sister's annoyance!

20. I'm not career driven at all but I would LOVE to work for Disney in some capacity one day.

I tag:
Vicki from Vicki In Neverland
Victoria from Accio Victoria
Hailey from The Undateable Girl's Diary
Chloe from Welcome To Wonderland
Lucy from Disney In Particular
Nicola from Nic Ooh La La
Selena from Dream Somehow
Charlotte from Alice Vitrum
Sam from The Belle Jar

How I Edit My Blog and Instagram Photos

Hello lovelies! Today I thought I'd share how I edit my Instagram and blog photos! Whether it's for a blog photo or for Instagram I do the majority of editing on my phone and I know from when I changed from an iPhone to Android recently and had to find a whole new editing process that it can be a bit of a nightmare. Therefore I'm hoping by sharing my process this might save someone else the hassle of downloading and trying out zillions of apps! Luckily both of the apps I'm going to be talking about in this post are available on both iOS and Android.

Before I begin I just want to thank the ever-so-lovely Kat from Kat Last as the idea from this post came entirely from her! Thank you so much Kat!
1. Take the photo!
If I'm taking a photo of an object then I take the majority of photos on my bed as the background is fairly neutral and as my bed is in front of my bedroom window, I can take advantage of the natural light.
2. Colour & make the photo lighter
To change up the colouring and the brightness of the image I then use an app called VSCO. I import the photo into the app then I use the filter 'F2' to add blue-ish tones to the image. I usually turn the intensity of this filter down to a 6 or a 7 so it's not too strong. Unfortunately I think this filter is one of the ones you have to pay for but it's definitely worth it!

The other thing I do in VSCO is changing the exposure which makes the photo lighter and brighter. It varies a lot on what level I use but for this image above I turned it up to 2.
3. Remove any imperfections
And lastly I use Touch Retouch to erase any imperfections, which is usually the creases on my bed cover! In the app you can use the brush tool to highlight any areas of the photo you want to remove. Make sure you don't highlight more of the area than you need to else the app can end up doing some pretty strange things to your photo! For example with the creases in this image I highlighted to just before the crease meets the DVD.

Once you've finished your highlight if you press the start/go button then this should remove the area you've drawn on. If you don't like how this looks you can always press the undo button at the top and give it another go. This is definitely one of my favourite apps - although it doesn't always work how you want it to, most of the time it's a really quick and easy way to give your photos a cleaner look. And I'm not going to pretend I haven't used this to remove the odd spot from a selfie before!
So there you go! As you can see there isn't actually that much difference between the before and after images but even though they're only small changes I definitely think it helps to make the images look a lot nicer!

I hope this helps!

P.S. I should actually just point out that I didn't use this editing process on the title image in this post as there was a lot of lovely, natural golden light from the evening sunshine when I took this! But for 99% of my other photos on my blog are edited using the process in this post.

The 70 Day Spending Ban for Hong Kong + HKDL

We've got our Hong Kong and HK Disneyland trip coming up in September and while that feels as if it's forever away at the moment I know the time will probably fly by! I'm absolutely terrible when it comes to taking care of my finances and I'm already starting to worry about not having enough spending money to take with me so I've decided to buckle down and attempt my first ever spending ban!

Why 70 days?
I've been looking at a few posts of bloggers who have done a 100 day spending ban and while I'd like to do one of those, 100 days would actually end after our trip! I've settled on 70 days instead because this should take me to just ahead of my last pay day before Hong Kong (29th August) and therefore gives me some time to buy any non-essentials that I've deemed necessary for our trip (*rolls eyes at future self*).

Things I'm allowed to spend money on:
1. Bills
2. Everyday beauty items (deodorant, mascara etc.)
3. Train tickets to see the boyfriend and low-cost activities while I'm there (cinema tickets, cheap meals out etc.)
4. Essential clothes for Hong Kong that I've yet to buy
5. Tsum Tsums - but no more than 10 a month! I know that still sounds like a lot to most people but with the two-a-month releases this will probably be quite hard!
6. Train tickets to the Disney London meet up on 2nd July, money for food and a few inexpensive things from the Disney Store and Lush's Oxford Street store if I *need* them (let's face it, I will find something that I *have* to buy...)
7. Necessary food purchases
8. Any other things that crop up that I'd need to pay for normally, like going out for coffee when my sister comes to visit, or a birthday card for a friend etc.
Things I'm not allowed to spend my money on:
1. No more buying my break food at work - packed lunches from now on!
2. Books - I'm going to be entering a tonne of twitter book giveaways instead over the next couple of months!
3. Random bits of Disney merchandise which I usually buy A LOT of. I've already unfollowed all the Facebook Disney selling groups I'm a member of in preparation!
& Anything else that I'd usually waste my money on!

What I'll reward myself with
Apart from having all that extra cash to (hopefully) take with me to Hong Kong, I'm also giving myself the incentive that if I make it the whole 70 days I'll let myself buy a pair of rose gold Minnie Ears from Etsy to wear in HKDL! *heart eyes*

I'm going to do monthly updates with how much I've managed to save and to fess up to any times I've broken the ban! If you've done a spending ban before let me know any tips you have for surviving it... I'm definitely going to need them!

Wish me luck!

Tsum Tsum Series | How To Find & Buy Rarer Tsum Tsums

When I first started collecting Tsum Tsums last year I remember seeing all these beautiful, rare Tsum Tsums on Instagram and thinking "where is everyone getting these from?!" After a lot of searching I've found a few reliable places where you can buy rarer Tsums/exclusives from other countries so I thought I'd share them here today for anyone who is new to collecting!

Facebook Tsum Tsum groups
These are hands down the best places, in my opinion at least, to find any kind of Tsum Tsum! These groups are great because not only can people list Tsums for sale but you can also ask if anyone is selling a particular Tsum Tsum that you're looking for. I got my 1st Anniversary Mickey and Minnie Tsums (pictured above in their little birthday hats) through posting an 'ISO' (in search of) post on these pages. My two go-to groups for the UK are Tsum Tsum UK Collectors and Disney Tsum Tsum Community UK but if you're not from the UK then Disney Tsum Tsum - Buy, Trade, Sell is a good group for US/international collectors.

Individual sellers
This is a great way to get Tsums that are exclusive to other countries directly from someone who lives there! I've personally only used one individual seller, tsum_tsum_addict, who I believe is based in Hong Kong/Japan. I bought the 2nd Anniversary set plus some of the 2016 Japan Valentine's collection from him and I couldn't fault the service! I've also heard that Tsum Tsum Japan is another great seller as well.
eBay
The prices vary a lot on eBay but if you can't buy through an individual seller then this might be a good way to get Tsums that are exclusives to other countries. I've managed to previously get a few of the 2015 Japan Valentine's Day collection through eBay for a lot cheaper than other places were selling them!

Tsum Tsum Planet
And lastly if you're in the UK then you might want to have a look at Tsum Tsum Planet too. Their website seems to be undergoing a revamp at the moment but they usually have a good selection of Tsum Tsums from both the UK and abroad. Their prices aren't the cheapest but they're not unreasonable either. I've ordered from them a few times and the Tsums have always been in perfect condition and their customer service is always pretty good too!

There we go! Hope this helps someone - I know I was completely clueless when I first started collecting!

P.S. Sorry, I know I said I'd post my Tsum Tsum collection next but I haven't quite figured out how to photograph them so I don't end up crashing everyone's computers by having about 50 photos in one post! Hopefully I'll have it up soon!

Mermaid Tops & Starbucks Cups | May 2016 Favourites

I'm afraid there's not many favourites this month as my head has been buried under coursework and exams but now that my last exam is over things should go back to normal next month! Here are the things I've been loving between university deadlines in May:
Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana Eau de Parfum
I went through a phase of buying lots of different perfumes last year and this was one of the many I ended up buying! I've got so many now that I've been trying to use up my exisiting collection and narrow it down to just a few of my favourites and this is one of the perfumes I've been trying to use up. I ended up wearing it quite often in May and while I really like the scent of it, compared to some of my other perfumes I wasn't sure if I'd repurchase it but almost every time I wore it this month someone would compliment me and ask what brand it is! If I find this one on offer again I think I'll definitely have to buy it now! I'm terrible at describing scents but if you like floral, sweet perfumes then this might be one for you.

Models Own Blueberry Muffin Nail Polish
I haven't had much opportunity to paint my nails recently as doing a shift at work never fails to destroy any nail polish I'm wearing but my sister kindly painted my nails for me when she visited us in May with this polish. I'd not got round to trying it before (I have over 100 bottles of nail polish oops...) but it turned out to be such a gorgeous pale Cinderella-esque blue! I want to start painting my nails regularly again this summer so this is definitely a colour that I'll be reaching for now.
Captain America: Civil War
We saw Civil War in May and oh. My. Gosh. I'd only seen the first Captain America film before we went to see it but after seeing Civil War I had to binge watch the previous two films almost straight after even though I was supposed to be revising! I think it's safe to say that Captain America has overtaken Thor as my favourite Avenger! Also I may be a little bit in love with Bucky Barnes now. That hair though.
Mermaid Top from H&M
After I saw Lottie from Lottie Does and Victoria from Accio Victoria tweeting about this top I knew I had to track it down for myself! The design is so cute and it's a cropped length so it's perfect for wearing over dresses and skirts which is my go-to outfit at the moment. Plus it was only £3.99! God bless H&M and their crazy low prices.
Starbucks Pink Tumbler
I spotted this Tumbler in Starbucks when I went in for my obligatory coffee before a revision session at the library and I could not resist that beautiful pink colour! It was a tad pricey (I think it was around £16) but I'm hoping having this will encourage me to make coffee at home more rather than buying coffee when I'm out so in theory it should pay for itself before long (or at least that's what I'm telling myself!).

My 2016 Summer Bucket List

Hello lovelies! I've seen a few bloggers recently posting their bucket lists for the summer and as this is the last proper summer break I'll be getting with my degree finishing next year, I've set myself a lot of goals! Here are the things I'm hoping to achieve on my break:

Start meditating
I cannot get through a 20 minute TV episode now without losing my attention... After about 5 minutes I'll already be wanting to check my phone or log onto Facebook! One of my essays for university this year was actually weirdly on meditating and it was through this that I discovered that as well as stress, meditation is apparently also really great for improving your attention span. So I'm hoping to give this a go this summer!

Begin a bullet journal
I'm not the most naturally organised person which is strange because I get incredibly stressed out when I let myself get disorganised! I bought a planner in January to help with this and although I initially loved it (I even included it in my February favourites), I soon found that it wasn't really flexible enough for what I wanted it for. Since then I've been seeing a lot of talk in the blogosphere about bullet journaling and from a wee bit of research (basically watching the "how to" video on their website...) it looks a lot more suited to my needs. I'm hoping to get this set up over the summer ready for when I go back to university in the autumn so I can kick the crap out of the final year of my degree with my new organisational skills. BAM! ORGANISATION.

Read 30 books
My Goodreads reading challenge for 2016 is to read 45 books but up until now I've only managed 6 - can you tell my reading goes completely out the window in term time...? As I've got about 4 months off for the summer I'd like to read at least 30 books to get me in a good position for when I'm back at university at the end of September. Here's hoping for lots of long evenings reading in the sunshine!

Start & upkeep my new exercise routine
I am probably one of the laziest people you will ever meet so if I can get out of exercising, I will, and as a result I've been using university as an excuse to let my running slip a lot over the past few months. Now that I've finally come to the realisation that long distance running isn't for me (it only took me months and months of training for two bloody half-marathons...) I want to focus on improving my 5k time. I've found a new exercise routine which will help me do this and also work on areas of my body that I've previously been neglecting so my goal for the summer with exercise is to get into my new routine and stick to it. No excuses now!

Have a clear out
This is something I end up doing every summer as I let my room become a bomb site of clothes, dust and junk throughout term time! I'm going to be rooting through my wardrobe and bookshelves and listing a tonne of things on my Depop over the next couple of weeks so keep an eye on there for some bargains!

Apart from these main things I'm also hoping to spend as much time outside as I can (vitamin D COME AT ME), pick up some extra shifts at work to save for our holiday to Hong Kong in September, work on my blog and go on lots of adventures with my family and boyfriend. What do you guys have planned for the summer? Let me know if you've tried meditation or bullet journaling - I'd love to know what you think or any tips and tricks!
