Disney-Inspired Gifts For Under £15

Hello! Sorry I've not posted in a little while, unfortunately my dissertation got the best of me for the past couple of weeks! But I'm back and today I thought I'd share a little gift guide for Disney-Inspired presents under £15. If I don't already own any of these they're all on my personal wishlist so hopefully you'll find something here that you'll like too.

1. The Beast Within: A Tale of Beauty's Prince, Amazon (£11.04) - a perfect gift for someone who's a fan of both Disney and books. This book is a story about the Beast before the events in Beauty and the Beast from his perspective... Apparently he even used to be friends with Gaston! This would make a lovely gift as the art on the dustjacket/book is gorgeous.

2. Alice In Wonderland Mug, The Disney Store (£8.95) - Just when you think you can't buy any more Disney mugs, *BAM* the Disney Store hits you with another beauty like this. I love the illustrations they've chosen for it - it's such a pretty mug for spring. Plus it even says 'drink me' on the inside which is a super cute touch. I'm sure this would please any Alice In Wonderland fan!

3. I Choose Him Brass Necklace, Alice Vitrum (£4.50) - Alice Vitrum is full of lots of lovely Disney and other pop culture necklaces so if you're buying for a Disney fan who likes jewellery, you're sure to find something to suit them here.

4. Rapunzel's Tower Retro Travel Poster A5, Teacup Piranha Prints (£7.00) - I am so in love with the prints from this shop. They do a variety of Disney films in the style of retro travel posters and they're all absolutely stunning. I think this Rapunzel one would look lovely in a frame on a dressing table... I'm very tempted to get it for myself!

5. Mrs. Potts and Chip Funko Pop! Figures, Zavvi (£10.99) - Even if the person you're buying for doesn't collect Funko Pops! one of these would make a cute addition to anyone's desk and these Mrs. Potts and Chip figures are especially adorable!

6.  Rapunzel Memoir Pouch, nyxsullivan @ Red Bubble (£14) - another great gift for Disney/book fans. They also do a Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty version too and I want them all! *grabby hands*

7. It's My Birthday Tangled Button, Parkbound Buttons ($4) - although these come from the US, the shipping is only $5.50 so if you bought one badge at $4.00 it would work out at less than £7 shipped! And trust me, these badges are GORGEOUS and so worth it. I'm planning on collecting a few more of these before I go to Hong Kong Disneyland in September to wear on my Minnie Mouse backpack! How I will embarass the boyfriend... ;)

Review: Lush Mask Of Magnaminty Face Mask

Unfortunately I've got a bit of a problematic complexion (the remnants of my teenage acne, oily skin, dry patches...) so I'm always a bit wary of trying new face products in case they end up making my skin even worse! However when I was searching through Lush's website a few months ago in the hopes of finding a new face mask that would agree with my skin, Mask of Magnaminty seemed to have a lot positive reviews from people who also had problems with their skin so I thought I'd give this a go!

Although I bought this to use for my face only, Mask of Magnaminty is actually a face and body mask designed specifically to target spot-prone skin and it's available in two sizes - 125g for £5.75 and 315g for £9.95. Being a bit of a newbie to Lush's website when I bought this I actually ended up buying the larger size to begin with, not realising there was a smaller size available! But you do get a really good amount for your money.
The first thing you'll notice when you open a pot of this is the AMAZING scent. One of the main ingredients is peppermint oil so if you like the smell of fresh mint then you're in the for a treat! I'm a huge fan of mint so to me this is heavenly! Not only does the peppermint oil make this smell delicious but it also gives you a bit of tingling sensation when it's first applied. Personally I like the feeling but even if you're not a fan it soon goes away. I usually leave this on for about 20 to 30 minutes while it dries but I think you could get away with leaving it on longer if you wanted to!

Mask of Magnaminty also contains evening primrose seeds and aduki beans to act as an exfoliator so it takes a good scrubbing to remove this mask (I usually use a wet cloth if I'm in the shower or wet wipes if I'm not) but I actually really like this. The combination of the peppermint oil and the exfoliation always leaves my skin feeling beautifully fresh and clean so I always find myself reaching for it in times where I've been neglecting my skin (hello exam season). I also think this will be perfect for taking on holiday - I usually find when I've been out all day on holiday my skin comes back in the evening feeling really horrible and greasy so I'll be adding this to my suitcase in future to give my skin a good refresh while I'm away!
The only downside to this product that I can think of is from the description Lush makes it sound as if this will help clear up spots but sadly I can't say this has happened for me. However as I'm still suffering from acne this is probably pretty unlikely! I can definitely say though that this does not cause me to have further break outs which is a huge bonus as this is always a worry with new face products! So if you have spot-prone skin/acne, this should hopefully be safe for you to use too.

If you've been umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether to buy this product, I'd say go for it! This has definitely become my favourite face mask!

My Disney Mug Collection

Hello! Today I thought I'd share my Disney mug collection. I love stalking the #DisneyMugs tag on Instagram to find some more cute mugs to add to my wishlist so I thought I'd share mine too!

You'd never guess from the picture above but I never actually set out to collect Disney mugs! I was already collecting three other different types of Disney merchandise (oops) so what started off as a few pretty Princess cups to drink hot chocolate out of somehow turned into a full-blown collection! I blame the Disney Store's sales...

Speaking of the Disney Store's sales, both of these resulted from one! I'd been after a Rapunzel mug for a while so I couldn't resist this gorgeous sketch design one, especially for the price it was - I think I only paid something crazy like £3 for it!

I am in love with the artwork on this Alice In Wonderland mug! It features some of the characters that you wouldn't usually see on merchandise such at the Walrus and the Carpenter which makes it extra special. Plus it's one of the very few mugs from my collection that is actually microwave and dishwasher safe so I get a lot of use out of it, haha!

How pretty is this Mulan mug? I love the image they chose for it, the cherry blossom is so gorgeous. Next on my mug wishlist is the Tangled one from this collection as it features the lantern scene *heart eyes*.

OBVIOUSLY I bought this BB-8 mug as soon as it hit the Disney Store website because BB-gr8 (dad joke alert). Unfortunately I believe this Mulan and Shang mug was only ever sold in the US but luckily one cropped up on a UK Disney merchandise Facebook group a while ago! Look at how adorabble Shang is resting his face on Mulan. I CANNOT HANDLE THE CUTENESS.

Sadly most of these mugs are older pieces of merchandise so if you'd like to track these down for your own collection, your best bet would probably be eBay. However at the time of writing this the Alice In Wonderland and BB-8 mugs are still available on the UK Disney Store's website so you can still snap them up for yourself!

Harry Potter | Visiting Lacock Abbey

At the weekend the boyfriend and I visited Lacock Abbey in Wiltshire, with my main motivation for wanting to visit being that I recently found out that some scenes from the earlier Harry Potter films were filmed here! Let's just say that I was not prepared for all the feels...! As soon as you walk into the Abbey entrance you're greeted with the gorgeous cloisters (walkways) pictured above which were used as corridors in some of the films and I teared up instantly! I've always been a huge Harry Potter fan but I did not expect to feel so emotional! The cloisters for me are so iconic of Hogwarts and seeing them felt like we had stepped into the films.
As well as filming in the cloisters and the courtyard at the centre, the rooms leading off the walkways were also used for interior scenes such as Snape's classroom, the room where Harry finds the Mirror of Erised and Professor Quirrell's classroom! SO MUCH FANGIRLING.
Naturally like the complete and utter dork I am, I had to wear my Gryffindor scarf for our visit, although since then I've found out from Pottermore's Sorting Hat quiz that I'm actually a Hufflepuff! Ooops! I'll have to pick up a new scarf soon.
Aside from the nunnery part of the Abbey you can also visit the rest of the house and gardens, plus the local village is also owned by the National Trust and it's stunning! The village is likewise regularly used for filming and I'm already planning to go back with my family soon as my Mum is a huge fan of the 1995 Pride and Prejudice which was filmed partially in the village! Whether you're a Harry Potter fan or not if you find yourself in this part of the country you need to have this on your list of places to visit!

Beauty and the Beast Outfit

My first outfit post! I'm not going to lie, I'm incredibly nervous about this post. I've been wanting to do Disney outfit posts for a while now but the thought of putting pictures of myself on the internet like this fills me with fear! However I thought I need to start listening to my favourite Disney quote more - "have courage and be kind" - so I'm giving this a try!

I bought this Beauty and the Beast dress a while ago off someone in a Disney selling group on Facebook and I am in love with it! As I mentioned in my Disney Confessions post I'm not the biggest BATB fan but this dress was just too gorgeous to pass up! The colours on the skirt are so bright and cheerful and I like how they chose the stained glass image for it, rather than a still from the film. I don't think most people passing on the street would recognise it as a Disney image so bonus points for subtlety!
And of course I've got to mention this Cogsworth and Lumiere necklace from Charlotte at Alice Vitrum! As soon as I saw it on her Etsy I knew it would be perfect for pairing with this dress. I've got a few necklaces from her shop now and I honestly wear them all the time - I love being able to wear a bit of Disney everyday! If you're after some Disney jewellery you definitely need to check Alice Vitrum out, she's just added some Paris park map necklaces as well!
