March 2016 Favourites

It's my monthly favourties time again, or how it should otherwise be known - everything I've been obsessing over on Twitter and Instagram this month! Not shown here: the copious amounts of Easter chocolate I'd been eating in the past couple of weeks... I think I probably ate at least five whole chocolate eggs before Easter Sunday had even arrived!
Lush Yummy Mummy Shower Cream
I bought a small bottle of Yummy Mummy to try at the end of February and it was instant love. It's a gorgeous, decadent sweet scent which the lady who served me at Lush described as smelling like 'salted caramel' and I have to agree! Unfortunately this is a seasonal product for Mother's Day so I obviously had to buy this 1kg whopper of a bottle to keep me going until next year!

Pride + Prejudice + Zombies Elizabeth Funko Pop
I've not talked about it on my blog before but I am a huge Jane Austen fan so when I heard they were adapting Pride and Prejudice and Zombies into a film I was very excited but also a bit nervous! There was a lot that could have gone wrong with this film and although it's not perfect, I actually really liked it. There was so much female badassery (GIRL POWER) and it was surprisingly funny, so as soon as I got home from the cinema I pre-ordered an Elizabeth Funko Pop to add to my collection. I'm so grateful that we finally have Austen-related Pops!
Max Factor Creme Puff Powder
I bought this powder on a whim - I stumbled across it on Boots' website and it had really great reviews so I decided to give it a go and I'm so glad I did now because it makes me feel so much more confident about my skin! Having the remnants of my teenage acne, oily skin and dry patches makes it difficult to find makeup that agrees with my skin, however does everything I could want - it has very high coverage for a powder and it keeps oils at bay for far longer than my previous pressed powder did without drying out my skin!

MilkyWay Magic Stars Hot Chocolate
This has got to be my favourite supermarket hot chocolate. I love MilkyWay Magic Stars anyway but the hot chocolate manages to be deliciously chocolatey and sweet without being sickly, plus it has actual mini magic stars in it which I think is a super adorable touch!
Disney Magic Kingdoms game
After seeing everyone on Twitter going crazy for this game I caved and downloaded it myself and I've been addicted ever since. Disney Magic Kingdoms was released earlier this month and it's a game where you can build your own Magic Kingdom and save it from the Villains who have taken over - it's not hard to see why it's been very popular in the Disney community! I put off downloading it first as I was worried it would get in the way of my university assignments (I've got my dissertation due in less than a month!) but luckily it's more one of those games that you have to check up on little and often, rather than spending hours straight playing it!

Have you tried any of this month's favourites yourself?

DisneyBound Wishlist: Live Action Cinderella (2015)

Today marks the one year anniversary of the UK release of Disney's live action Cinderella which is one of my favourite ever films (can you tell?) so to celebrate I thought I'd share the items that are on my wishlist for a live action Cinderella DisneyBound! If you're new to DisneyBounding it's basically where you use normal items of clothing to represent a Disney character, like a cross between your everyday clothes and a costume! You can visit the DisneyBound Tumblr here to find out more.

1. CINDERELLA CORSET BALL GOWN, HOT TOPIC [no longer available]
2. CINDERELLA GLASS SLIPPER NECKLACE, I LOVE CRAFTY - £12.99
3. ESSIE BIKINI SO TEENY NAIL POLISH, SUPERDRUG - £7.99
4. T&J JEWELRY GOLD-TONE BUTTERFLY EARRINGS, AMAZON - £2.99
5. VIVIENNE GOLD BALLET PUMPS, BUTTERFLY TWISTS - £28

1. For the dress I'd have to choose this dreamy Cinderella dress from Hot Topic. Although it's no longer available on Hot Topic's website these are still cropping up on eBay every now and then so I'm going to have to keep my eye on there for one as I need this dress in my life.
2. As glass shoes aren't your everyday occurrence I thought the best way to represent them in this DisneyBound would be with this necklace from I Love Crafty. You can get it in an iridescent finish which makes it shine all the colours of the rainbow - so magical! I already own one of these myself and it's definitely worth every penny.
3. The perfect Cinderella blue nail polish! This matches the gorgeous blue packaging from MAC's Cinderella collection and it has a hint of sparkle to it too. This is also one of my favourite nail polishes that I own as it's such a pretty, striking colour and it also makes your skin look more tan, which is always a bonus when you're as pale and pasty as I am!
4. and 5. And finally to represent the gold butterflies on Ella's shoes I thought these butterfly earrings and gold shoes would be cute choices. If you can't have glass slippers, sparkly gold shoes have got the be the next best thing!

H&M Clothing Haul March 2016

I went shopping on Saturday and I ended up in H&M which is usually a recipe for disaster as I can always find at least 10 items I want to buy from there and this visit was no exception! There's so many beautiful things in at the moment and I have a feeling if I wasn't so pressed for time when I visited I would have bought so much more! Here are the things I did end up buying:
JERSEY CROP TOP - £7.99
CARDIGAN - £14.99
GREY JUMPER - £7.99
Okay so how DARN ADORABLE is that coffee shirt? As a student this is definitely very applicable to me as well, I don't think I could get through university without caffeine! Luckily both the top and the jumper I bought are a cropped length so they're perfect for layering up over dresses a.k.a. what most of my outfits consist of, haha.
I also came across this beautiful dusky pink cardigan and although it seemed a little pricey to me (#studentlife) I know I'll get a lot of use out of it in the summer. I can't wait to pair it with a dress and bare legs!
OVER KNEES SOCKS 2 PACK IN BLACK - £5.99
TASSEL KEYRING IN ROSE GOLD AND SILVER - £3.99
Finally for accessories I picked up some over-the-knee socks and a tassel keyring for my planner. I love the look of over-the-knee socks but all the pairs I've bought so far from other shops seem to slip down below my knees after a while so I thought I'd try my luck with H&M's ones. Fingers crossed!

Do you shop in H&M as well? What have you been buying from there recently?

Five of My Favourite Underrated Disney Films

Although Disney are one of the most well-know filmmakers of all time not all of their films manage to achieve the recognition they deserve, so today I thought I'd give five of my favourite underrated Disney films a bit of love:
Hercules
For me Hercules is one of Disney's best animated films - it's packed with of catchy songs, great characters and a totally swoon-worthy romance story - yet there doesn't seem to be a lot of love around for this film! Hercules was a Disney Renaissance-era film (the period of Disney films released  between 1989 and 1999) but unfortunately unlike other films which came out during this time such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, Hercules is very much overlooked in the merchandise department. The online UK Disney Store even returns an error page if you search for Hercules at the moment because they currently have zero products for it! I just want a Hercules mug okay? *cries forever*.

Wreck-It Ralph
Although it was only released 4 years ago Wreck-It Ralph seems to have already fallen off the Disney radar which is a shame as it's easily one of my all-time favourite Disney films. Wreck-It Ralph tells the story of Ralph who is a lonely, misunderstood character in an arcade game who is stuck playing the role of the villain but wishes he could become the hero instead. Being about video games it contains references to lots of classic video games such as Mario and Pac-Man, but even if games aren't really your thing there's so many fun elements to this film that there really is something for everyone.

Tron: Legacy
Garrett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde, a Daft Punk soundtrack and a whole heap of stunning visual effects set in a dark, futuristic virtual reality... What's not to love?

The Black Cauldron
Another one of Disney's classic animations that is often forgotten about! Unfortunately after it's release Disney tried to bury The Black Cauldron due to the backlash about the dark nature of the film. Although it's a lot darker than the average Disney film, I saw this for the first time when I was very young and I enjoyed it so much that I ended up re-watching this film throughout most of my childhood - and I'm one of the biggest scaredy-cats going! So if you haven't seen this classic film you definitely need to give it a chance!

The Lone Ranger
I have a feeling I might be on my own with this one as unfortunately this film didn't do well with critics or audiences but The Lone Ranger is easily in my top ten Disney live action films! It's got a great cast - Johnny Depp (overlooking the fact he was cast to play a character of colour *sigh*), Armie Hammer, Helena Bonham Carter and it's full of some great action scenes. It's got a similar vibe to the Pirates of the Caribbean films so if you liked those then hopefully this will be up your street as well.

Do you agree with any of my choices? What films would you put on your list?

February 2016 Favourites

If you follow me on Instagram (@courageandkindness) you'll know I'm constantly posting things that I'm loving at the moment so I thought I'd start doing a monthly favourites post to wrap up all the things I've been obsessed with that month! So here are my favourites from February...
Body Shop White Musk Smoky Rose Eau De Parfum 30ml
I picked this up in the sale and holy moly does it smell gorgeous. I've been wearing it all throughout February! It has a lovely classic scent, a lot like a high-end perfume, so for only £6 you can't go wrong.

Lush 93,000 Miles Shower Jelly
I recently started training again for my second half-marathon coming up in April so I've had quite a few cases of sore muscles but luckily I've had this shower jelly from Lush on hand to help soothe them. I got this as a Christmas present from my cousins and I couldn't be more grateful - it's got a lovely warming feeling when you rub it into your skin, perfect for post-run tired muscles! I'll definitely be reaching for this a lot over the next couple of months.
Princess Leia Tsum Tsum
February saw the mid-month release of the first set of Star Wars Tsum Tsums (is anyone else still crying financially over the now two-a-month releases?!) and although there were some really adorable Tsums in this set, the Princess Leia one was easily the cutest - I'm so in love with her little hair buns! Now we just need The Force Awakens collection and all my Star Wars Tsum Tsum-related needs will be filled, haha!

New Look Fairytale Zip Purse
New Look seem to be killing it recently with their purses, they've had some really cute ones over the past couple of months and at the moment they've got a few Disney-style ones in! I tried to convince myself that I didn't need this Cinderella-esque purse but when I saw it in store I couldn't stop myself from buying it! Now if only I can think of a use for it...
Kusmi Anastasia Tea
I'm a bit of tea collector, I probably have at least 30 different types of teas, so when I went to Paris in December I picked up this Anastasia tea from Kusmi as a souvenir (as you do...). I'd not heard of Kusmi before but their beautifully colourful shop on the Champs-Élysées drew me in like a moth to a flame and I ended up choosing this Anastasia tea due to it's gorgeous perfume-y scent. Earlier this month I finally got round to giving it a try and oh. my. gosh. This has easily become my favourite tea of all time. It reminds me of Lady Grey tea but with a way more delicate flavour and there's absolutely no bitterness to it whatsoever. I could drink gallons of this stuff! If you're a fan of trying different types of tea you need to get your hands on this.

Gold Saffiano Personal Filofax
I came across a few planner-based Instagram accounts in January and I didn't realise how beautiful planning could be! So naturally when I came across this beautiful gold Filofax I had to try it out for myself and I've been addicted ever since! I've been loving decorating the inside with stickers and washi tape but it's also helped me become so much more organised. Even though I've only been using a planner for just over a month, I don't know how I'd cope without one now!

If you're looking for a bit of planner inspiration yourself my favourite planner Instagram account is princesaplans - as well as posting her gorgeous planners she also posts Tsum Tsums!

Hope you had a wonderful February!
