January 2016 Lush Haul

Around Christmas time I was googling the ingredients of one of my favourite face masks from a high street shop to see if it was suitable to give to my vegan cousin as part of a Christmas present, however I was in for a bit of a nasty surprise when I found one of the ingredients turned out to have a bit of a shady reputation! Obviously all ingredients in these products have to pass safety procedures etc., but this made me realise that a lot of the beauty and shower products I use probably contain a whole bunch of chemicals that I don't know anything about. And quite honestly, this scared me a little! So right there and then I decided that in 2016 I wanted to phase out as many of my usual beauty and shower products as possible and replace them with fresh ones, made from natural ingredients. I know I'm not going to be able to replace everything (I don't think I could ever relinquish my trusty mascara for starters!) but hopefully even a small change will still have a positive effect upon my hair and skin.
SANTA BABY LIP TINT - £2.98 [half-price]
POWER LIPSTICK - £7.25 [half-price]
OVAL TIN - £2.95
As I believe Lush only use fresh ingredients or safe synthetics in their products, I thought they'd be a good place to begin. I picked up their American Cream conditioner as it had some great reviews on their website, a face mask and the Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar to go along with their 93,000 Miles shower jelly that I received as a Christmas present. Both the massage bar and shower jelly have warming ingredients to help combat sore muscles so as I'm starting up half-marathon training again after my exams are finished next week, I'm hoping these will help relieve my inevitably sore legs!

I also bought the Santa Baby lip tint and their Power lipstick from the Christmas sale. I've been meaning to try out a red lip and I thought these two would be perfect for this. Finally I also bought their Prince Charming shower cream and The Kiss lip gloss from their new Valentine's collection. I've heard lots of great things about Prince Charming so I'm excited to try it, plus I've obviously got to give it some extra points for the adorable Disney-related name!

Now off to give these all a go! Hopefully I'll have a review of one or two of these up soon. In the meantime please let me know if you have any recommendations of your favourite Lush products - I'd love to hear them (except bath ones - I don't have a bath unfortunately *forever crying*).

Mini Disney Wishlist

I don't know about you but I'm usually lusting over a good number of Disney items at any one time (damn the constant stream of gorgeous Disney merchandise!), but now that The Force Awakens has increased my appreciation of Star Wars in general, a whole new world of merchandise has just been made available for me to spend my money on! Here are a few bits and bobs on my current wishlist:
3. KYLO REN SHIRT, EMP - £24.99

How cute is this Minnie Mouse Loungefly bag? It reminds me of the Mickey and Minnie bags from Primark recently that I unfortunately missed out on. I wanted to get one for our possible trip to one of the parks later this year but the Primark ones seem to be at least double the price on eBay now so although this Loungefly bag is a tad on the pricey side, it'll probably work out at only a bit more than what I'd have to pay for one of the Primark ones now but hopefully it'd be a lot better quality! These floral Minnie ears are also so pretty - they would be such a cute alternative to the average Minnie ears. They remind me of a cross between Rapunzel and Briar Rose/Sleeping Beauty who are two of my favourite Disney Princesses.

I've also had my eye on this Kylo Ren shirt ever since I saw The Force Awakens. I don't usually like villains at all, but there's just something about Kylo Ren? Perhaps it's the perfectly conditioned hair... Who knows? Either way I need this shirt in my life - the fact that you can wear it off the shoulder is a bonus too. Also from The Force Awakens, I've also been keeping an eye on the BB-8 Christmas decoration. I'm hoping it'll be reduced in the sale soon, BB-8 is the cutest little droid ever!

Probably the most unnecessary thing on my wishlist is the Pears In A Pod plush from Toy Story 3. I actually almost bought one of these when I was in the Oxford Street Disney Store for my birthday last year but I talked myself out of it because I won't really have much use for it apart from letting it sit with my other pile of soft toys. But four months later, I still want one! I love their little squishy faces, and the fact that you can zip them up or remove the little peas. So adorable! Plus it's only £7.95 so I have a feeling I might end up adding one to my next Disney Store order.

Although you can't buy it over here, this Rapunzel frame is still available on eBay and I'm really tempted to get one! I love anything Tangled and we're hopefully heading to at least one of the parks this year so I thought this would be perfect for displaying a favourite photo from our trip. And finally I think I may have to pick up a pair of these Star Wars chopsticks each for the boyfriend and I for Valentine's Day and get us a Chinese takeaway to go with it! The boyfriend is a huge Star Wars fan and a big kid at heart so I'm hoping these would be right up his street. Plus you can get these in a light-up version too!

The Love/Hate Tag

The oh-so-lovely Jade from DisneyJade (seriously, she's the sweetest person!) tagged me to do the Love/Hate tag which I believe is where you state 10 things that you love, and 10 things you hate! You can see Jade's post on this tag here. So here goes!

1. Not having to work weekends anymore! I'd been working on weekends for the past few years right up until late 2015 when I finally got rid of my last weekend shift. It feels so good to finally have my entire weekend free so I can spend more time with my loved ones! And maybe the odd day spent entirely in bed watching movies and stuffing my face...
2. Dressing up! I'd love to try cosplay sometime but for now I'm going to concentrate on coming up with some DisneyBounds.
3. Primark and all its beautiful Disney and Harry Potter merchandise.
4. Summer. No tights + sunshine = winner!
5. Finding a really good book that I cannot put down.
6. Painting my nails. I get an inordinate amount of pleasure from looking down and seeing my nails all glossy and sparkly!
7. Curling up in the evening with a Disney film and a hot chocolate in one of my Disney Princess mugs.
8. Forehead kisses.
9. Everything Jane Austen. I've still got quite a few of her books to read but I know her stories well from their various film/television adaptations and I don't think I'll ever get sick of them.
10. When the online Disney Store adds new items because CUTENESS.

1. When the online Disney Stores adds new items because MONEY.
2. That the next film in the main Star Wars storyline doesn't come out until 2017! I need more Kylo Ren, Rey, Finn and Poe now!
3. My habit of licking my lips, even when they're really sore and chapped!
4. Wearing actual clothes at home. Even if I'm home for only an hour or two between lectures I will change into my pajamas!
5. That Tangled 2 is probably not going to happen. I know that Tangled doesn't necessarily prompt having a sequel but I'd love to see more of Rapunzel, Flynn, Pascal and Maximus. Sassy Pascal forever!
6. 9am lectures. I am just not designed to function that early.
7. Grapefruits. How does anyone stomach those things?!
8. That the UK Disney Store doesn't get half the merchandise that the US one gets *sad face*. "Please sir, I want some more."
9. Forgetting to bring hand sanitiser with me when I go out somewhere. I'm a bit funny about germs and trying to stop myself from getting ill so I usually have at least a couple of hand sanitiser bottles kicking about my bag!
10. Still having acne after more than 10 years with it! I THINK I'VE SERVED MY TIME NOW, HORMONES.

Voila! Thanks again to Jade for tagging me. I'm not sure who to tag for this so if you'd like to take part, feel free to use me as your tagger!

15 Of My Favourite Moments From 2015

I was browsing through the photos I took in 2015 and I realised I had forgotten a lot of things I'd gotten up to! Looking back, I've got lots of happy memories from last year so I thought I'd share 15 of my favourites, including the odd bit of Disney here and there!

1. Shopping, eating and a rooftop bar in one of my favourite cities in the world - Bath
2. Spending Easter in the countryside with the family. We have a little hut in the middle of the countryside where we usually camp out in once or twice a year as a family and it's so nice to disconnect from the city for a while!
3. Running my first ever half marathon and completing it in 2 hours and 4 minutes, which I was very pleased with!
4. Visiting the gorgeous Blenheim Palace for the first time for the boyfriend's birthday to see a Ludovico Einaudi concert. I have to admit, I hadn't heard of Ludovico Einaudi before we went but it was honestly one of the most amazing concerts I've ever been to! We were sat outside the palace with the sun setting on one side and the audience were so quiet you could hear birds sing as they passed overhead!
5. The month my boyfriend bought me my first Tsum Tsum, Thumper from Bambi, and the crazy collecting commenced! In the five months of 2015 that I was collecting Tsum Tsums I managed to amass 90 minis and 3 mediums... Ooops!
6. Re-visiting Blenheim palace for the second time once I realised it was one of the filming locations for Disney's live action Cinderella... Can you tell I'm a tad obsessed with that film?!
7. Visiting Charlestown in Cornwall with the family - one of the locations used in Poldark!
8. Spending the day in London with the boyfriend the weekend before my birthday and doing lots of Disney things - including getting my picture taken in the Oxford Street Disney Store's Cinderella Carriage!
9. Meeting the lovely Heidi from Frozen Tsum through our love of Tsum Tsums online and starting our exchange of Disney gift boxes with each other! She is such a sweet, kind girl and I can't wait to hopefully meet her in 2016!
10. Carving Halloween pumpkins with the boyfriend. Neither of us had carved pumpkins since we were little and although I had a few teething problems (well, a lot actually!) the boyfriend turned out to be a bit of a pro! Despite my clumsiness this was actually a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to trying this again next year.
11. Dressing up as a sort-of Rapunzel Disneybound for Halloween. A lot of people at the party kept giving poor Pascal a squeeze, haha!
12. Visiting my Aunt's who I hadn't seen in months and going on lots of long, Autumn-y walks with the dogs
13. Visiting the Bath Christmas Markets and having breakfast in the Pump Rooms with the family. Although the Christmas Markets were a little too crowded for me (there were points where the crowds were so large we came to a stand-still!), it was lovely to see Bath all decorated for Christmas. And visiting the Pump Rooms made me so happy - I felt like I'd stepped into a Jane Austen novel!
14. Going to Paris for a few days with the boyfriend. I'm pretty much obsessed with Paris so I was always going to enjoy this trip! I think out of everything though, going up the Arc de Triomphe was a definite highlight for me - the views were incredible!
15. Our traditional Christmas Day family walk on the beach with the dogs. We spend the rest of Christmas Day stuffing our faces and watching TV so it's nice to get a bit of fresh air in between!

I hope you all had a lovely 2015!
