Disney & Beauty Boxing Day Sales Haul

Hi lovelies! I hope you've been having a lovely festive break! On Boxing Day my sister and I woke up early and headed off to the local mall to hit up the Boxing Day sales. Luckily where I live it's not too crazy busy if you go early and as I knew what I wanted to buy in advance, we were in and out pretty quickly! I managed to pick up some Disney and beauty goodies so I thought I'd share them here today:
The first shop we headed to was Boots as I was after the gorgeous Disney Alice In Wonderland beauty collection that had pretty much sold out online on Christmas Day! Luckily the whole collection was still available in store so I picked up the washbag set (£6), mist & cosmetic bag set (£5) and the make up palette (£3.50) which were all half price!

First of all, how gosh darn pretty is that packaging? I'm obsessed with the little Alices and Cheshire Cats!  I mainly bought the bag sets to use the gorgeous bags for travelling but I was also pleasantly surprised by the makeup palette! I used some of the eyeshadows for our meal out on Boxing Day and they lasted for hours! I'm looking forward to trying out some other combinations with the different shades.
Also from Boots I picked up this huge makeup palette by Technic. I've just recently started getting into eyeshadow so I thought for only a fiver for 64 eyeshadows, this one should keep me occupied for a while!
I also knew that we had to pay a visit to Lush for their 50% off sale! We had to queue to get in the shop for about 30 minutes but this was more than worth it to get some festive Lush goodies! I'm not the biggest Snow Fairy fan anymore but I had to pick up a little bottle to keep me going until next year for when I fancy a sweet fix (£1.98) and I also chose a bottle each the of Rose Jam (£2.48) and Bubbly (£4.98) shower gels. I've not actually tried these two before but from a quick sniff I can definitely see myself investing in some bigger bottles of these next year - they smell delicious!

They also had a few non-seasonal products on 50% off so I bought two different types of their toothy tabs - Oral Pleasasure and Bling! (£2.98 each) as I've been wanting to try these for ages. You can use these little tabs as an alternative to toothpaste so as long as I can get along with the flavours, I thought these would be perfect for travelling!
Did you brave your local shops for Boxing Day or did you try your luck online? What goodies did you get?

My Disney Christmas Jumper Look

Merry Christmas Eve! Hope you're having a lovely day, whatever you're doing! Today I thought I'd share how I'm planning on styling my Christmas Jumper this year. I bought this jumper from the Disney Store last year and I'm still obsessed with it now! I love the adorable Mickey and Minnie design. I actually even have this on a matching mug too, haha!
To complete the outfit, I paired the jumper with my all-time favourite skater skirt from H&M and a red ribbon choker from New Look. I think the choker was less than £2 and the skirt was under a tenner so both were total bargains! I'd been looking for a skirt just like this for years and then I finally stumbled across this one earlier this year and it was everything I was looking for, and for such a teeny price! This is exactly why the majority of my wardrobe comes from H&M!

Will you be trying to squeeze some Disney into your festive-wear too? Let me know how you manage it!

The Rose Gold Headphones Edit

Hi lovelies! I don't know about you but I'm obsessed with everything rose gold so I was very happy earlier this year when I got a bonus from work and was finally able to afford the blogger-favourite Frends Taylor rose gold headphones (shown here on my Instagram). While I was initially very much in love with them, they unfortunately only lasted 6 months before they broke... A bit disappointing considering the rather hefty price tag! I'm planning on doing a full review of them soon but until then I thought I'd share some other rose gold headphones I've found whilst looking for some replacements for my Frends ones, in case there are any other rose gold lovers out there!

From left to right:

1. Liboer Wired On-Ear Headphones, Amazon - £40.66
If you like the look of the Frends headphones then these are definitely the most similar-looking ones that I've come across, and considering the price, they're not bad at all! Unfortunately they're on-ear rather than over-ear ones else I think I would have tried these for myself!

2. Seattle Corded Headphones, Urbanista - £49
These are the ones I ended up going with! They ticked all the right boxes for me plus the cord looks a lot sturdier than the Frends ones (it was the wiring that went on mine!). And they're about £130 cheaper...!

3. Pyrite Headphones, Skinndip London - £35
How gorgeous are these?! I'm obsessed with the rose gold quartz on them! Sadly they don't fold up like the other headphones featured here so they might be difficult to travel with but if this doesn't bother you then these are definitely some of the prettiest ones I've come across!

4. Beats Solo 3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones, John Lewis - £249.95
And finally if you're looking to spend the sort of money you'd spend on a pair of Frends headphones, then these Beats might be a better option. Not only are they the most beautiful shade of rose gold but they're also wireless so hopefully they'll be a bit sturdier than the Frends ones. Just make sure you buy them from somewhere like John Lewis that offers a guarantee!

The Christmas Tag

...How adorable are these Christmas 3 Peas In A Pod?!

Merry Christmas lovelies! Before we begin I thought I'd better do a quick update - although I'd been planning on doing a "12 Days of Blogmas" this December (12 Blogmas posts every other day from 1st December to 23rd December) my phone ended up had a major electrical fault last week... God bless technology eh?!

Luckily I managed to get a new phone under warranty on Saturday but this has unfortunately put me very behind schedule as I wasn't able to blog in the meantime so I've decided to just do as many of my planned Blogmas posts as I am able to do. So for today's Blogmas post I thought I'd do The Christmas Tag, created by The Enthusiast so you can find out a little more about what makes up my Christmases. Let's begin!

1. What is your favourite Christmas film?
It's got to be Love Actually! I'm a total romantic so this film is right up my street. Plus that cast. Christmas time is never complete without at least one viewing of this film.

2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Never! We don't really get snow full stop where I live so it's pretty unlikely unfortunately!

3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?
At home with the family. The last few years on Christmas day have been pretty chilled out and quiet as it's usually just my mum, sister, the dogs and myself but this year there will be a point over the Christmas period where we'll have six people and five dogs all under one roof!

4. What is your favourite Christmas song?
There's so many but probably Driving Home For Christmas by Chris Rea. I've never actually driven home for Christmas but the idea of this song always makes me feel so happy and Christmasy!

5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
No, we usually open all our presents on Christmas itself but if anyone gives me a present before Christmas day then I always open them right on the spot, much to my mum's annoyance!

6. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph, Cupid... Ehm... No, haha! *Hangs head in Christmas shame*

7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
The Christmas day walk on the beach with the dogs (which should be especially interesting this year as we'll have five dogs instead of our usual two!) and sales shopping with my sister on Boxing Day, followed by our big family meal!

8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
We always have an artificial tree at home but when I move out to live with my boyfriend I'd love to have a real tree at least once!

9. What is your all-time favourite holiday food/sweet treat?
Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate!

10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
Honestly I love finding that perfect gift for someone and seeing their face light up when they unwrap it, but I always get stressed out at Christmas trying to get gifts together for everyone, so for Christmas-time I'd probably have to say receiving gifts haha!

11. What is the best Christmas gift you've ever received?
Last Christmas my sister bought us tickets to see the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play so I have to say that's a pretty hard gift to beat! You can see my spoiler-free thoughts on the play here if you're interested.

12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I have two! The first is Disney - I haven't experienced the Christmas period there yet so that's a definite goal for me! And the second is New York. It always looks so dreamy when its featured in Christmas films!

13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
Fail miserably, definitely! I've never been a natural present wrapper and I always have to google how to fold the paper each year as I somehow always forget?!

14. Most memorable holiday moment?
I have to admit there isn't really one that sticks out over the rest! I'm very lucky because I don't think I've ever had a bad Christmas so I have lots of equally-lovely memories.

15. What made you realise the truth about Santa?
I don't think there was ever a moment where I was like "OMG HE'S NOT REAL?" - I think we always kind of knew he was make believe!

16. Do you make New Years' resolutions? Do you stick to them?
I don't make them just because I never stick to them! I do however make monthly resolutions and I find these are a lot more effective for me - I've managed to increase my water and fruit and vegetable intake through monthly resolutions!

17. What makes the holidays special for you?
Family! The Christmas/New Year period are all about family for me. It's usually the only time of year that I see certain members of my family so it's very special to me.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Hopefully see you soon for another Blogmas post!

Five Ways To Get Into The Festive Spirit

Merry Christmas lovelies! I don't know about you guys but since I've become an "adult" I find it very hard to get that festive feeling I always got as a child anymore so today I thought I'd share a few things that might help you reclaim that feeling of Christmas magic. I've tried to make these all as low budget as possible as I know money is always a bit tight for everyone at this time of year!

1. Have an evening of wrapping all your presents/writing all your cards whilst listening to Christmas songs
Combining Christmas songs and present wrapping/card writing always leaves me feeling festive!

2. Go for a long winter walk
Whether it's with friends/family, your dog or on your own, wrap up in your winter warmers, pack a hot chocolate in a flask and go for a walk in the cold. Make sure to bring a camera to get some snaps of the scenery looking all wintery!
3. Buy a Christmas TV guide
This is a must in our family! The only time of year we ever buy a TV guide is at Christmas and every year we each have a flick through and circle the things we want to record. There's always lots of great TV over Christmas and having a good catalogue of programmes recorded means you'll always have something to look forward to when you find yourself with some spare time in December.

4. Treat yourself to a Christmas drink from a coffee shop
There's something about the adorable festive cups that coffee shops do around Christmas time that always makes me feel so happy! Even McDonalds have joined in on the Christmas cups game now with some lovely festive hot drinks to match so shouldn't have to go far to find one now! My favourite though has to be Costa's Lindt hot chocolate (pictured below). So chocolatey and delicious!
5. Bake some festive treats
This is something I always forget to do but it would be such a fun way to get yourself feeling Christmasy! Plus there's so many different types of festive bakes from gingerbread tree decorations to mince pies, so even if you're a bit of a baking novice like me there will be something you can have a go at!

Hope one of these will help you feel more festive!

Disney Secret Santa Gift Ideas Under £5

Merry Christmas lovelies! For today's Blogmas post I thought I'd share some Disney bits I've found on the internet recently which would be perfect as Secret Santa gifts or stocking fillers. They're all £5 or under so hopefully there should be something here to suit everyone's budgets!

1. Mirror Mirror On The Wall Coin Purse, New Look - £3.99
2. Christmas Minnie Mouse Mini Tsum Tsum, Clinton Cards - £3.50
3. Donald Duck's Christmas Favourites DVD, Disney Store - £3.99
4. Christmas Ariel Socks, Topshop - £3.50
5. Tinkerbell 3 x A6 Notebooks, Wilko - £2.50
6. Tsum Tsum Novelty Ballpen, Wilko - £1.50 each
7. Disney Animators' Collection Shopper Bag, Disney Store - £3.50
8. White Mickey Mouse Snack Bowl, Disney Store - £4.99

New Look always have the cutest purse designs and this one is no exception! If I didn't already have two of their Disney-inspired designs I'd definitely be treating myself to this one! I also think the cover of the Donald Duck's Christmas Favourites DVD is so lovely - it reminds me of the beautiful covers on the classic collection of DVDs. It would make such a lovely gift for any Disney fan. And I'm very tempted to buy the Mickey Mouse snack bowl from the Disney Store for myself! They come in a range of colours and while it's meant for snacks, I actually think it would actually make a lovely jewellery dish!

I hope this was helpful for you guys! I'm taking part in a Disney Secret Santa myself so I might have to make use of this post myself for my gifts!

All images used in this post were found on the sellers' respective websites linked above apart from the image of the Christmas Minnie Tsum Tsum which was found here

Beast From Beauty and the Beast-Inspired Disney Nails

Hi lovelies! You may remember last month the lovely Sam from The Belle Jar and I did a Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas nail art collaboration so to continue this series this month we decided to do Beauty and the Beast as it's the film's 25th anniversary this month!

Whilst Sam did Belle-inspired nails, I was supposed to do a Beast-inspired look but after a four failed attempts this morning I've ended up with more of a general Beauty and the Beast look instead, oops! That'll teach me for rushing!
Unfortunately I didn't have a good blue to match the Beast's jacket so I combined two blues together to make sort-of similar colour! I then wanted to do yellow on the other nails to represent the detailing on his jacket and while I think this polish is a pretty good match, it also looks a lot like Belle's yellow dress... Hence more of a Beauty and the Beast look than just the Beast! To finish it off I added some glitter to the tips and a rose to the ring finger for the Beast's Enchanted Rose.
Nail pens used:
Nail Art Pen in 5
Nail Art Pen in 13

Nail polishes used:
Models Own HyperGel in Blue Glint
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Blackberry
Beauty UK Nails in Daffodil Delight
Barry M Nail Paint in Christmas Glitter (SLE B)

What do you think? Have I completely failed or just managed to scrape by haha? Remember to check out Sam's beautiful Belle nails!

All About Aladdin | When in Agrabah Tag

Hi lovelies! Disney blogging queen Danielle from Underland to Wonderland tagged me to do her
When in Agrabah tag about none other than everyone's favourite street rat, Aladdin! I really love doing Danielle's tags as they're about characters and films you don't usually find tags on so they're always really interesting to answer! If you'd like to see my answers to her other 1951 Alice tag you find them here. Let's begin!

Are you more a Street Rat or a Princess/Sultan?
I'd love to say a Princess but in reality I'm definitely more Street Rat material!

Would you rather have a pet Tiger, Parrot or Monkey?
I'm a bit afraid of birds so parrots are out the window... But how do I choose between Abu and Rajah?! I think if I had to choose it would be a tiger as if Abu is anything to go off, monkeys seem to be a bit naughty!
You have 3 wishes from the Genie himself, choose wisely..
1) The health, happiness and longevity of the lives of my family, friends and myself (if I can count that as one!)
2) A permanent job with Disney
3) Unlimited free airplane travel?!

Where would you go if you could go on a one-night magic carpet ride?
If it could get me there, then I'd choose to go back to Hong Kong. It's the best place to be at night as it's really one of those cities that never sleeps! We'd wonder past a Lush store at 11 o'clock at night and it would still be open!

How would you deal with Jafar?
I think my "dealing" with Jafar would be more like me running away from him...
Who would be your perfect Prince/Princess?
If it's not my current partner then definitely Shang from Mulan. What a BABE. I've had a crush on him since I was little!

Arabian nights or Arabian days?
ARRRRABIAN NIIIIIIIGHTS LIKE ARAAAABIAN DAYSSSS! Did this question make that song pop instantly into anybody else's head?! Can I be cheeky and choose Arabian evenings? I prefer days to night-time but I don't think I could take the heat of the day either!

Thank you Danielle for creating such brilliant Disney tags! If you'd like to take part in this tag then feel free to use me as your tagger!

6 Tips For Hong Kong Disneyland

Hi lovelies! I'm definitely no expert when it comes to Hong Kong Disneyland as I've only been once on our trip to Hong Kong in September but when it came to booking and researching our trip there seemed to be very little information out there. So today I thought I'd share a few things I learnt from our visit in the hopes it might help anyone who is thinking of going soon!

1. Where to buy tickets
The ticket prices for HKDL are quite expensive (we paid around £54 each) and unfortunately there doesn't really seem to be anywhere you can get them discounted. The only place I came across was Klook where they were offering them about £4 cheaper but I'm not sure if you get a physical ticket through them. Quite honestly, I wanted the physical tickets to take photos with haha (see above...!) so we ended up booking through HKDL's website. Just remember to bring some ID when you come to collect your tickets - I completely forgot mine but luckily the Cast Member still let us in!
2. When to visit
Stupidly we didn't research on when the best time to visit Hong Kong was and ended up going in monsoon season and getting rather wet! A local told us that apparently the best time to visit HK is actually March or November so if you're able to plan your trip for then it shouldn't be as hot or at risk of a monsoon! Also make sure you visit mid-week when the children are in schools as it's a lot less busy. We went on a Thursday and it was so quiet!

3. Visit popular attractions before 2pm
Related to my last point, make sure you do the more popular attractions before schools finish around 2pm as it gets a bit busier after this time with families entering the park. We were able to walk onto every ride before 2pm with absolutely no queues at all!
4. Buy meal vouchers beforehand
If you want to save your spending money on the day, you can buy meal vouchers before you visit. There's two different types of voucher: a 2-in-1 meal coupon which is available discounted from Klook or a 3-in-1 coupon which can be bought from HKDL's website. The 2-in-1 meal coupon includes a meal and drink plus an additional drink from a snack cart whereas the 3-in-1 meal includes two meals and drinks, plus an additional snack from a snack cart. The 3-in-1 voucher unfortunately works out at over double the price of the 2-in-1 voucher so we ended up going with the 2-in-1 one. Due to the weather and the evening parade not being on when we visited, we were only in the resort from about 10.30am until 6.30pm and found that the 2-in-1 voucher was more than enough for us!

5. The Cast Members give out stickers and cards
In HKDL most of the Cast Members keep a handful of stickers/cards on them to give out to children but even though it was just my boyfriend and I, we ended up with loads ourselves! They're lovely little free keepsakes so if you're interested in picking some up make sure you greet each CM as you pass them and they may give you some too!6. PhotoPass
You can buy a day PhotoPass for your trip (PhotoPass+) but when we went there didn't seem to be many photographers around the park so I'm not sure how great in value that works out at. However where there were photographers (next to characters etc.) if you have your photo taken by them they'll give you a little card which you can scan on their app and preview the photos on afterwards! I believe they store the photos for 24 hours so keep hold of any cards you get and then when you're back at your hotel you can look at your photos in peace and purchase any downloads to your phone that you like! You can also get photos printed out in the park while you're there.

There we go! Hope this helps anyone who's thinking of visiting Hong Kong Disneyland!

Update: Emily asked me on Twitter how many days you need to visit HKDL and I realised I completely forgot to address it in this post! We were only there for one day and while we managed to get loads done, I'd definitely say that HKDL is more of a two-day visit if you're a huge Disney fan and want to get everything crossed off your list!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Play Review (SPOILER FREE)

Hi lovelies! On Sunday my sister and I headed off to London kitted out in Gryffindor (Emma) and Newt Scamander (me) scarves to see Parts One and Two of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre! We've been waiting over a year to see this show (Emma kindly queued online for over seven hours on release day to get tickets for us as a Christmas present!) and I can't believe it's finally been and gone! I'm not sure if I've really mentioned on here before but I'm a massive Harry Potter fan so this was the loveliest of surprises. Just before I begin I should just mention that while I've titled this a review, it's more of my rambling thoughts on the play rather than a proper review!
Before we went both of us had successfully managed to dodge any spoilers so we went in completely unaware of the story, other than it was set 19 years after the Deathly Hallows and based around the children of Harry and co. Because of this I had no idea what to expect but I can honestly say that I was blown away by this show! The casting, the stage props, the effects... it was just so amazing. Emma and I were constantly turning to each other with "how the hell did they manage to do that?!" expressions on our faces - some of the effects seemed like actual magic!

And the music... Oh. My. Gosh. I later found out that the soundtrack was composed by Imogen Heap and it is just so stunningly beautiful. It's a lot softer than the music from the films but still equally magical and dramatic when it needed to be. I *need* the album right now!
While I did love the play as a whole, I have to admit though that I wasn't overly keen on the actual storyline and I can understand now how those who have read the book first without seeing the stunning visuals from the play were disappointed with it. It didn't have that usual Harry Potter feeling for me and honestly I'm still a little confused as to who the Cursed Child actually is?!

However, while it'll never be my favourite Harry Potter story, I'm still really grateful for its existence. If I could have wished for J.K. Rowling to write any story based in the HP world it would have been to catch up with Harry as an adult and that is exactly what we've been given. One thing I did love about this new story however is that it makes you realise just how important the events that happened in the original story were so I'm excited to re-visit the original seven books now I know what happens in the eighth story.

Overall I am so unbelievably grateful to my sister for securing these tickets for us! I feel so lucky to have been able to see this fantastic play with the original cast. It's definitely a must-see for every Harry Potter fan and I think even those who disliked the book would still enjoy seeing the show as the visuals and performances are just so incredible.

Have you seen the show or read the book? Let me know what you thought of them, I'm dying to talk about it haha!

Disney Things I've Been Loving This Month | October 2016

Hi lovelies! I was just reading Disney In Particular's October Favourites and in her post Lucy said that she doesn't think she's spent that much until she sits down to do these posts and I'm feeling exactly the same this month haha! I'm a bit short on money at the moment with Christmas coming up so I thought I hadn't acquired that many Disney things this month but as you can see, that's not the case! So here are my favourite things that I picked up in October:
First up is this gorgeous Cinderella heart plaque from itslizi. I've been trying to fill up a wire mannequin I've got on my wall with Disney decorations as a sort-of alternative Christmas tree so I knew I had to order one of Lizi's Disney heart plaques! I'm so in love with it, it's covered in a subtle layer of glitter so it catches the light beautifully and it's the perfect size for my "tree"!
As Halloween was this month I also have some Halloween-y favourites! I watched Hocus Pocus for the first ever time on Halloween and I honestly loved it so much! I can definitely see why it's such a popular film with Disney fans. This will be a permanent Halloween fixture from now on!

As you may remember I organised a Disney-themed Secret Santa-type event on Twitter for Halloween (post on it here) and the person who ended up sending a gift to me was the lovely @titchtamsin from Little Glitter. Unfortunately the first gift that Tamsin sent out ended up getting lost in a post but she kindly insisted on sending out a second one for me which arrived the very next day! You can see the lovely things she sent here but my favourite had to be these Villains socks which I believe are from ASOS. How amazing are they?! Thank you Tamsin!
One weekend while I was visiting my boyfriend he bought me a load of these Disney Princess Dream Big stickers from Panini completely out of the blue! I'd not come across them before but they're so pretty! I was tempted to buy the corresponding sticker book to go with them and try to collect them all but I think I want to save them to do something crafty with!
And last but not least are these Disney calendars that I've picked up for next year. I'd been desperately wanting these as I'd seen them all over Instagram throughout this year so I wanted to get my own for 2017. However as I've been short of money so I was worried that I wouldn't be able to afford to buy these before they sold out. Luckily my boyfriend's parents kindly gifted me with some spending money earlier this month for my birthday so I went straight to Calendar Club to pick these up! I'm especially excited about the Thomas Kinkade one - I'll definitely be framing some of the pictures once I'm finished with the calendar!

Other favourites
And finally, my non-Disney favourites. I've been in love with Patisserie Valerie's beautiful mugs ever since I first stepped into one of their cafes so with the leftover birthday money I had from my boyfriend's parents I bought one of my own!

I've also been trying to increase my intake of fruits and vegetables this year and I recently came across these Bear fruit Yoyos which are 1 of your 5 a day and have no added sugar! They're so easy to pop in your bag for on the go so these will definitely be coming with me on my train journeys now!

Hope you had a lovely October!
